Time flies and it is already the 2nd last day of our trip. Haven't kayak before but since our host, Robin, has some kayaks at her back yard, I figure that I might try kayaking around the river. Got quite a scare when I first tried to get on the kayak. Thanks to my dad who is holding on to the kayak sturdily (was afraid that I might dragged him down the water with me actually, haha!), I managed to get on to the kayak without getting myself wet.

Kayaked around the river, didn't go too far, and started feeding breads to the ducks. They are so adorable and started waddling over as fast as they can once I threw a piece of the bread into the water.

After a morning kayak, we went to the port near Mandurah Dolphin Cruises and board our cruise ship. Mandurah Dolphin Cruises has different type of cruise. The one we had chosen was the 1 Hr Scenic Canal Cruise - ticket at AUD$28 per person. There will be dolphin encounters (if we're lucky) and we will get to see the waterside luxury houses.

Indeed we are lucky because within 10 minutes of our ride, our guide told us that there's a pod of dolphins nearby. So the cruise slowed down and we admired the playful dolphins swimming around in the canal (check out the video of the trip embed below for a short dolphin encounter).

I always love cruising on the water as I always feel that there's something mysterious about the water below me. Not that much of a scary mystery, but more like I feel so amazed by the lives that's living in the water.

Here we are, entering into the world of the luxuries.

Most of them have yatchs and boats parked outside of their house. These houses are reallyyyyyyyyyy big and expensiveeeeeeeee. After the cruise, we take away fried fish from Cicerello's (not really a fan of chips) and my, the fish is really good. I would recommend you to try out Fish and Chips when you're in Perth!
Then, we drove to Rockingham, which takes about 30 minutes, to our last accommodation - Anchorage Guest House. Didn't take any photos of it unfortunately, but you can refer to the website. We booked the Self Contained Apartment and it looks exactly like the photos on the website. There's a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom, 2 bedrooms and a balcony. The apartment is on the 2nd floor of the building and the 1st floor is the car park.
After checking in, we made our way to the Rockingham Wildlife Encounters Gift Shop (located on the corner of Arcadia Drive & Penguin Rd, Shoalwater), to purchase the ferry tickets to Penguin Island. It's just a short 10 minutes drive away from our rented apartment.

Ferry only costs AUD$14 per adult. There's different packages you can choose from. For more information, you can check it out on Penguin Island's website.

Our ride to Penguin Island. There's a number of things you can do on Penguin Island, you can visit their Discovery Centre to watch the penguins feeding, or take a tour on their glass bottom cruise to encounter dolphins, penguins and sea lions, or you can go for their Swim with Dolphins cruise, where you get to snorkel and swim (literally) with dolphins! I wanted to tried the Swim with Dolphins cruise but it was our of my budget, it's about AUD$205 per person! Well, maybe next time!

Kitesurfing seems to be the popular water sports in Perth. There's a number of people kitesurfing when we visited Cottesloe beach too.

Penguin Island is really just a small island. There's no cafes, restaurant or shops on the island. So remember to pack some food and drinks before you board the ferry. But do take your trash with you and throw it on the ferry (some has a trash bin) or when you get back to Rockingham!
After our trip to Penguin Island, we dropped by the Rockingham Shopping Centre and bought some ingredients from the supermarket to make dinner at our rented apartment.
That's all for day 6!
