Day 5 - Mandurah, Australia

NOVATEK CAMERA

We're moving to Mandurah, Western Australia on day 5. After checking out in early morning from our previous accommodation - City Chic, we took off on a short road trip to Mandurah to check in to our 2nd accommodation of the trip. Again, I found the accommodation on Airbnb and is looking forward to it because according to the listing, there's a river behind the house where you can go kayak and some times dolphins might swim in!

After driving for about 1 hour, we arrived at our accommodation - 2 Bedrooms in Private House. Yes, we'll be staying with the owner of the house, Robin, taking two of her rooms. Robin is such a outgoing host! When we arrived, she immediately prepared coffee, tea and some cakes for us and shared a little about herself and her family. Although we only stayed there for one night, my family and Robin got along quite well. And I must tell you, the neighborhood is amazing! It's like a small town where every one know each other, just like those I've seen in U.S. dramas. It's really nice and cosy living there. Of course, the first thing I did when I reached there was to rush to the back of the house and see if there's really a river. And yes! There is (shown above)! This is the backyard. There's also some ducks waddling around and small fishes in the river.

Mandurah is famous for spotting dolphins at the river I would say. There's various locations at Mandurah where you'll be able to spot dolphins. So next we visited Dolphin Quay to have our lunch and also check out the timing for the Mandurah Dolphin Cruises.

Dolphin Quay is located at the Mandurah Ocean Marina, you can enjoy the sea breeze and the picturesque marina while having a cold beer or enjoying your delicious meal.

I had Bangers and Mash for lunch from Sharky's Fish and Chips. Delicious! Love the sauce especially.

072

After lunch, we went to get tickets for the next day's dolphin cruise at Mandurah Dolphin Cruise centre nearby. Then, we went to Silver Sands Beach and chill for a little while. I love how soft the sand feels, you can just run and roll around comfortably on the sand!

In the evening, we took a stroll along Murray River, the river that connects to the back of our rented house. Robin, our host, told us that some times dolphins will chase the fish to this river and that's when they have dolphins at the back of their house!

After night fall, I was blown away by the number of stars in the sky! I haven't seen sooo many stars for a long time. Not sure if you can see (above & below), but I tried to capture the stars with long exposure on my DSLR.

Isn't the sky beautiful? I just fell in love with Australia all over again while posting these photos. Sigh...
